Ichie-Sui is produced in the Yamizo Mountains, which span the borders of Fukushima, Ibaraki, and Tochigi prefectures. The Yamizo Mountains are composed of Jurassic and Cretaceous sand and mud, rich in minerals and other nutrients, invigorating the plants that grow there. We, the manufacturers, personally harvest these wild and medicinal plants, which are fully imbued with the natural energy of the Yamizo Mountains. Immediately thereafter, they undergo washing, processing, and aging to extract their essence.
No Chemicals Used in Plant Extract Extraction
While most cosmetic manufacturers use chemicals to extract the essence from plants brimming with natural energy, we have, through years of research, established an extraction method using Otsu-rui shochu (single-distilled shochu). Furthermore, we have successfully created products containing only pure plant extracts, ensuring that the shochu components used in extraction are not carried over into the final product through dilution.
Since only pure plant extracts are dissolved in water, you can use our products with peace of mind.
*It has been found that Ko-rui shochu (multiple-distilled shochu), which primarily contains petroleum-derived brewing alcohol, alters plant extracts.
Filtration of Water from the Yamizo Spring Group with the Yusui Water Purifier
The Yamizo mountain area is known as the Yamizo Spring Group, and its water is so beautiful and clear that it has been selected as one of the "100 Exquisite and Well-Conserved Waters" by the Environment Agency, with fireflies also inhabiting the area.
We further filter the tap water, which originates from the rivers of this Yamizo Spring Group, using our manufactured "Yusui Water Purifier" that employs weathered granite as a filter medium. We then use this purified water, free of chlorine, radioactive substances, and other impurities, to wash plants and as dilution water.
About Ichiesui Ingredients
The plant extracts used in Ichiesui are harvested and prepared during the peak season of the raw plant materials, from May to November each year. These extracts are then matured from April to May of the following year, and after extraction, they are aged for three to seven years. These aged plant extracts are then blended and diluted for use. Maturation enhances the efficacy of the extracts.
We Use Natural Glycerin
Glycerin includes 'synthetic glycerin' derived from petroleum and 'natural glycerin' derived from plants such as coconut. The plant extracts used in our products retain their medicinal properties by being processed while they are still alive. However, it has been found that chemical substances contained in synthetic glycerin can alter these extracts. Therefore, we use natural glycerin in all our products, avoiding the use of chemical substances.
